Young people increasingly engage with financial topics through social

media, where financial influencers, so-called finfluencers, have

become an important source of information. While finfluencers and

their content can make financial topics more accessible, they also

raise questions about accuracy, credibility, persuasion, and their

influence on financial decision-making. This tension provides the

starting point for the FiBiFlu project, which aims to support learners

in engaging critically and reflectively with finfluencer videos. The

talk will introduce the interdisciplinary project and present initial

empirical findings.
