About this event

The term “folk music” is used to describe many musical styles and practices around the world, but what does it really mean? This presentation will give an overview of folk music’s history and the genre’s meaning over time in the United States, complete with live a music performance.

About the speaker: Brooke Taylor is a recent Oregon State University graduate who studied both geography and music. She enjoys finding ways to bridge those interests, including reading about music or local history, learning about Christmas music, or writing her own music about places.

This event is free and open to the public. Please support our hosts at Calapooia Brewing by ordering a drink or snack while you listen!
