About this event

An Extraordinary Musical Experience: Yekwon Sunwoo Returns with Corvallis-OSU Piano International

Experience the extraordinary artistry of internationally acclaimed pianist Yekwon Sunwoo as he returns to Corvallis, invited back by Corvallis-OSU Piano International following the enthusiastic reception of his previous performance.

The 2017 Gold Medalist of the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the first Korean pianist to receive this honor, Sunwoo opens Corvallis-OSU Piano International’s 2026–27 Steinway Piano Series with an exhilarating program of Romantic piano masterpieces.

From the lyrical beauty and dramatic storytelling of Chopin’s Ballade No. 4 in F minor to the emotional intensity of Rachmaninoff’s Six Moments Musicaux, the program showcases the expressive power of the piano. Sunwoo then takes on three dazzling works by Liszt: Rigoletto Paraphrase, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, and Mephisto Waltz No. 1 — a thrilling display of virtuosity and musical imagination.
