College of Science Inclusive Excellence Event

About this event

Join Lou Wojcinski , recipient of the 2026 College of Science Inclusive Excellence Award and associate professor of teaching in the Department of Chemistry, for a candid exploration of the first-generation student experience and practical ways we can better support student success.

Through Wojcinski’s perspective and the approaches he’s implemented in the classroom, along with insights from a panel of current students, we'll examine how policies, teaching practices and institutional structures can shape students’ sense of belonging and their ability to persist to a degree. Let's build a more welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Date: Dec. 1

Time: 4-5:30 p.m.

Location: Memorial Union, Horizon Room (Room 049)

We look forward to seeing you.
