- ➤ A Linn County woman was arrested in Sweet Home after she allegedly left the scene of a hit-and-run crash on April 18— that seriously injured a motorcyclist who was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis— and she now faces charges of felony failure to perform duties of a driver and reckless driving. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kelsey Provo from Innovation Law Group explained that a federal judge in Eugene ordered DHS to temporarily reinstate the visas of two international students—a 32-year-old doctoral candidate at OSU and a 29-year-old British master’s student at UO—after questioning the government's reasons for revoking their SEVIS records. Both sides have two weeks to prepare for the next hearing to determine if the visa revocations were illegal due to a lack of due process. KEZI
- ➤ The Budget Commission will hold public meetings starting May 8 to review the Proposed City of Corvallis Budget for the biennium from July 1 to June 30. All sessions will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Downtown Fire station 1—Council Chambers and include department presentations and public hearings with a comment deadline at 12:00 p.m. on May 14, with a potential extra session on May 15 if needed.
