About this event
Join faculty leader Julie Walkin for an information session to learn more about this six-credit, 2.5-week course in Bhutan.
Prepare yourself for the breathtaking flight past 18,000 foot peaks into the Paro airport. Upon arrival we’ll drive to Lobesa, and familiarize ourselves with the town and the College. The Bhutanese education system uses English, and many people throughout the country are fluent. This course will give you deep insight into how Tibetan Buddhism is put into practice in Bhutanese culture, architecture, food, music, agriculture, forestry and water resource management. You will also learn key principles of Gross National Happiness and study how it is measured and promoted. We hope this immersive experience will inspire reflection on our own values and how we put them into practice in our lives.
