Downtown Corvallis Organization released its annual report on Tuesday to the city council and showed a surplus of over $70,000, beating its budget.
The report detailed community events such as Friday Lights+ Trick or Treat and the CorkVallis! Wine Walk and outlined plans to hire a new executive director and expand downtown programs.

Students returned to Tangent Elementary today as the district weighs a potential closure in coming years (no final decision has been made), keeping the school's future under review.
OSU opens a new childcare program today — it fills the gap left by Beaver Beginnings' closure this summer in Corvallis.
🏈 Sports
Philomath High girls won the Country Fair Classic on Wednesday, Sept.
9 at Oregon Country Fair Grounds, scoring 42 points as Cassidy Smart posted 18:29.5 and team depth carried them over 13 schools. The boys placed seventh as they rebuild before Sept. 19 meet at Tillamook’s Alderbrook Golf Course.
