- ➤ Today, Chris McFarland works as a certified alcohol and drug counselor with Benton County Health Department who uses his past hardships to help people facing homelessness and mental health struggles—he serves on the county’s assertive community treatment team, reaching clients on the street and at drop-in centers. - ➤ Philomath High’s girls wrestling team earned five medals at the Phil Smith Memorial Invitational in Junction City on Friday, Jan. 2. The team will next compete in the Benton County Championships on Jan. 8 at their home meet starting at 4 p.m. Philomath News
