- ➤ On Saturday, 600 community members plunged into the chilly Willamette River at the Special Olympics Oregon Polar Plunge in Corvallis to raise funds for free athletic programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities + the event raised nearly $45,000 to support statewide sports initiatives. - ➤ The Philomath boys swim team qualified for state in five events at Saturday’s Special District Championships at Albany Pool, with Lucas Brandt winning two individual events and a 200 medley relay team earning a state seed. The state meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center. Philomath News
- ➤ Philomath seniors Lake Mulberry, Riley Barrett and Porter Compton won district championships at the Special District 2 Championships on Saturday at Newport HS, earning spots for the state tournament in Portland beginning Feb. 26. Philomath News
