Good morning, Corvallis.

Philomath’s March on Hunger food drive returns for a second year to help local families in need.

Volunteers will meet this Saturday, Mar. 7 at City Hall (to distribute flyers for 2,200 households) and gather next Saturday, Mar. 14 at Community Church to collect and box donated food.

A comment overheard at Philomath High School on Wednesday prompted a police-assisted investigation and security sweep — officials later determined the threat was unsupported.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office will test the Linn-Benton ALERT emergency notification system at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, sending messages to all landline phones and registered devices in the county; residents who receive the alert should not call 911.
