Good morning, Corvallis.

A reader urges local residents to submit comments by March 23 on a BLM plan to log 2 million acres of protected old-growth forest, including Marys Peak.

The proposal may increase erosion and fire risks affecting water quality in the Rock Creek Watershed serving Corvallis.

Benton County broke ground on Third Street Commons, a 47-unit permanent supportive housing project that will include fully furnished studio and one-bedroom apartments along with healthcare & behavioral health services built with local partners.

Construction will finish by September with move-ins set to follow.

Corvallis awarded a $13 million tax exemption to a high-end apartment builder as part of an incentive designed to spur public benefits; however, some City Council members question whether the move delivers enough for the community + officials continue to debate the benefits.
