  • The Oregon Department of Forestry sent 21 firefighters and an agency representative to assist North Carolina firefighting operations under mutual aid agreements; they arrived in Charlotte last night and briefed in Asheville this morning — a two-week rotation that builds skills and maintains statewide readiness.  KEZI

  • Philomath High School softball lost both games at the Battle of the Beach tournament Monday after being shut out 16-0 by Pendleton and 17-0 by Estacada in Newport; the Warriors will play Yamhill-Carlton at 11 a.m. and Nyssa at 1 p.m. today.  Philomath News
  • Philomath High School’s Shining Stars finished seventh in the 4A/3A/2A/1A Traditional category at the OSAA Dance and Drill State Championships on Saturday at the Salem Pavilion with a score of 66.25.
