  • On Saturday morning, March 22, a new matte black drinking fountain was dedicated on the Corvallis Waterfront to honor Civil Rights leader Calvin Henry with a plaque, and Albany city councilor Dr. Ramycia McGhee & NAACP representatives joined the ceremony. Henry led the local NAACP chapter and helped launch community leadership, and the memorial reflects his enduring impact on equal access.  Corvallis Gazette-Times

  • In Corvallis, two first-time candidates will challenge the incumbent for a school board seat on May 20 — the only contested race on the ballot.  Corvallis Gazette-Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Starting April 7, the Oregon DMV will offer a new OSU Beavers specialty license plate that costs $40 for a first-time purchase and the same for renewals—proceeds support Oregon State Athletics. The plate features the Beavers logo on a black heartwood design and adds another option to the available specialty plates.  KEZI
