CRIME NEWS

  • Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported on April 3 — a 43-year-old man from Philomath was cited for his goats running onto a neighbor’s property, April 4 — a 46-year-old man from Albany was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 20 for warrant issues, and April 11 — an attempted burglary at a bus lot west of Philomath was foiled when an alarm likely scared the suspect away.  Philomath News

  • School board candidate Chris Blacker is crunching numbers and outlining cuts to help the district manage tough finances+ he will explain his proposals as part of his campaign platform.  Corvallis Gazette-Times
  • Charlotte Willer is running for the school board after she pulled her daughter out of public school—she said students did not get enough support and chances to learn well—and she hopes to boost academic options if elected.  Corvallis Gazette-Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city is seeking volunteers to join more than a dozen advisory groups that help shape policies and programs—including long-running boards like the Climate Action Advisory Board, Library Board, and Community Police Review Board, as well as new groups on active transportation and economic development.
