EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Oregon schools will soon have more than a year to plan summer learning programs after the state Senate passed two bills—House Bill 5047, which funds $35 million for summer 2025, $35 million for summer 2026, and $12 million for June, and House Bill 2007, which sets rules for the programs—and they now await Gov. Tina Kotek’s signature. The funding will be used only for programs that help students read and write at grade level as the Oregon Department of Education gives priority to schools with low reading scores. Philomath News
