ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Benton County’s new Nature Neighbors program helps residents turn small yard spaces into wildlife habitats by offering hands-on guidance, small grants + a step-by-step certification process. The program, led by Greenbelt Land Trust and Benton Soil and Water Conservation District, aims to create connected corridors for local pollinators and birds.  Philomath News
  • Oregon is adding 24 fast-charging stations along major highways, including two in Corvallis, which will offer 126 charging ports. Some will come online next year under a federal program funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  Philomath News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Starting June 1, the Benton County Crisis Center at 240 NW Fourth Street will extend its walk-in hours to 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday as part of Mental Health Awareness Month; community members may drop in for support plus share positive messages at center events.  KEZI
