Tomorrow, May 7, at 10:30 a.m., Natascha Adams of the Benton County Historical Society will lead a lecture at the Philomath Museum on how museums serve as community storytelling spaces while fostering civic dialogue.

Benton County is hosting Mental Health Awareness Month this May—featuring community events and a paper chain project—and the crisis center at 240 NW Fourth St. will extend walk-in hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting June 1.

Philomath High visited Sweet Home on Monday afternoon for a boys tennis match that gave the host school its first season contest.

Freshman Cameron Barlow won the varsity match 6-1, 6-0 and exhibition teams also prevailed; the team will play West Albany today at 4 p.m.

Philomath’s girls tennis team was defeated 7-1 by Marist Catholic Monday, May 4 at Marist Catholic High in Eugene (junior Lucy Thomas recorded Philomath’s only win in No. 2 singles).
