Corvallis nonprofit Unity Shelter will suspend its Men’s Shelter, Room at the Inn and Emergency Hotel Shelter programs and cut about 80% of its staff on July 1 due to funding uncertainty, affecting around 80 people who use these services each night.

The nonprofit will keep running its Hygiene Center and SafePlace program while urging state action on House Bill 5011 — local shelter options remain limited.

The Tuesday String Band, a bluegrass trio from Monmouth, will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. on May 14 at Marys River Grange in Philomath — admission is $10 and a bluegrass jam session will follow the concert.

The Philomath Youth Activities Club is accepting registrations for its Fun in the Sun summer camp and child-care for children entering first grade through age 12.
