- ➤ Local cyclists will join the 21st annual Ride of Silence on May 20 at Osborn Aquatic Center (1940 NW Highland Drive) to remember riders lost on local roads. The event starts with a brief ceremony at 6:30 p.m. followed by a ride at 7 p.m. Philomath News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The new owner of Evergreen Hill, a 150-acre landmark southwest of town, has filed a notification with the Oregon Department of Forestry to clearcut 118 acres. The plan will soon affect a mixed forest known for its old-growth trees and wildlife habitat. Philomath News

- ➤ Philomath High School girls golfers enjoyed a season of growth and friendship as coach Logan Martin praised their strong chemistry during the district tournament held at Mallard Creek near Lebanon on May 4-5. Players shared lighthearted moments and encouraged peers to try golf. Philomath News
