Five OSU students and local friends gathered at downtown Saturday Market today to taste and rank cinnamon rolls from five vendors – they compared texture, flavor and cost to name a clear favorite.

The Philomath School Board approved a five-year student transportation contract with First Student Inc. during its meeting on Thursday, May 21; the new provider will replace Mid Columbia Bus Co. starting July 1 for the 2026-27 school year.

Philomath senior Lucy King ended her state tournament run with a second-round loss to Marist Catholic’s Phoebie Larson Friday at the OSU Tennis Complex in Corvallis.

King, who rose from beginner three years ago to become the Warriors’ top singles player (14–4 record), closed her high school tennis career.

Philomath’s baseball team lost 8-7 in eight innings on May 21 at Bob Brack Stadium (Aurora) but secured the conference runner-up spot ahead of the playoffs.

They will play on the road Tuesday when the playoff bracket is announced.
