- ➤ Crews from six fire agencies quickly contained a roughly one-acre wildfire in a clear-cut along Botkin Road southwest of Philomath Saturday evening after a 4:20 p.m. dispatch, and firefighters remained on site to secure the area. Philomath News

- ➤ Philomath High School girls won their ninth straight conference title — outscoring Cascade by 20.5 points — while the boys placed second at the track meet held May 22-23 at Stayton. Both teams qualified for state and will compete at Hayward Field on May 29-30. Philomath News
- ➤ The Philomath High School team will travel to Eugene on Tuesday for the Class 4A baseball playoffs against Marist Catholic; the winner will face the team advancing from the No. 11 Phoenix matchup in the quarterfinals on May 29 (game start times are unannounced). Philomath News
