Oregon senators overrode Gov. Tina Kotek’s veto on Wednesday and repassed Senate Bill 875 by a 21-6 vote to strengthen foster youth protections by requiring a court order before limiting sibling contact and ensuring rights like an attorney and access to personal belongings.

City officials said on Wednesday that the city allocated $480,000 from a local option levy to fund social services for nonprofit providers during the 2025-2026 grant cycle.

The Benton County Crisis Center will host an open house and information fair at its new facility—located at 240 NW Fourth St.—from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 28 to preview its innovative approach to walk-in crisis counseling.
