- ➤ Benton County leaders celebrated the opening of the new crisis center at 240 NW Fourth Street in Corvallis on June 20 and invited the public to an open house Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. Gov. Tina Kotek, Congresswoman Val Hoyle, and county officials led the ribbon-cutting and said that walk-in crisis counseling and mobile crisis dispatch will begin on July 7 — with additional services added later. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Between June 14 and June 21, BCSO responded to several incidents including a motorcycle crash on Fern Road caused by gravel, a hit-and-run at a Woods Creek Road trailhead reported by a Corvallis man, and a vehicle that went off Plymouth Drive where an 18-year-old was cited for marijuana possession while officers made other arrests in the region. - ➤ Following severe spring storms and flooding, the U.S. Small Business Administration approved Gov. Tina Kotek's request for disaster relief loans for businesses, homeowners, renters, and nonprofits in affected counties. In these areas, homeowners may borrow up to $500,000 for property and businesses up to $2 million for repairs while physical damage claims must be submitted by August 25—economic injury claims are due in March.
