  • In May, PCS Gleaners received a $3,000 grant from the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians to help buy food from Linn Benton Food Share amid rising costs—treasurer Ann Morgan thanked the tribe for their support. The donation is vital as the group distributed 16,325 pounds of supplies to local families, including 66 adoptee families and 93 children.  Philomath News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Benton County Historical Society will open an interactive exhibit titled From Airwaves to Algorithms: The Evolution of Family Media on Aug. 9 at the Philomath Museum to show how family media has changed from radio to digital formats. The exhibit runs through April 4 — it features hands-on displays and lesson plans for local school groups.  Philomath News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Due to the City’s Western Blvd and 35th St Water Pipe Replacement Project, detours for outbound Routes 3, 8 and the Philomath Connection are in effect today until Friday at 5:00 p.m.—buses will follow 15th Street, then turn right onto Philomath Blvd, right onto 26th Street and left onto Western Blvd with alternate stops at 15th Street and Washington Way and at Western Blvd and Grove Street.  City of Corvallis
  • In Linn and Benton counties the juvenile justice system helps youth avoid entering the adult courts by using diversion programs and probation plus structured detention when needed.
