  • Corvallis police arrested local man Seth Amos Grace after he attacked another man with a katana-style sword early Saturday on August 30 at his home on Northwest 23rd Street – the victim suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center while his companion was treated for a broken nose.  KEZI
  • A juvenile male cougar was euthanized Monday afternoon outside NW Corvallis after it killed a goat and posed a threat to human safety, authorities said—Benton County Sheriff’s Office officials noted the animal was seen in residential backyards and showed no fear of people.  KEZI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City staff will ask the Council to approve an investment resolution analysis on a BDS resolution at tonight's meeting—while a resident's letter details a neighbor's antisemitic outburst that led her to call the police.   • Tonight, the City Council will hire an outside evaluator to review City Manager Mark Shepard's performance over the past year—some council members say the selection process appears rushed and biased while alternative bids were ignored.  The Corvallis Advocate
