A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrest on the 1500 block of NW Division St at 7:30 a.m. on September 3rd has sparked fear among immigrant families in Corvallis—Indivisible Benton County members held a protest near Val Hoyle’s office as public defenders noted growing reluctance in the community to seek help.

On Sept. 14, the Dementia Warriors will wear orange T-shirts and walk at OSU’s Memorial Union Quad to raise money for Alzheimer’s research as part of the Mid-Willamette Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s — team captain Holly Bendixen said the group expects 30 to 40 people and the event will feature a Promise Garden Flower ceremony to honor those affected by dementia.

Philomath High lost a hard-fought volleyball season opener Thursday night against Crescent Valley on the road in a hot gym — the team led early but was outplayed in the final two sets to lose 3—2.

The Raiders will return Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a home match against Warrenton.
