  • A recent ICE arrest in Corvallis prompted Oregon lawmakers Cyrus Javadi and Tom Andersen to propose a constitutional amendment that would bar law enforcement from covering their faces to hide their identities. They plan to introduce the bill in the 2026 short session and place it on the ballot—raising legal concerns—while ICE defends the need for face coverings.  The Corvallis Advocate
  • The Benton County Sheriff's Office will host a Preparedness Fair and Public Safety Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, September 7 at the Philomath Frolic — Rodeo Grounds from 1 to 5.
