  • Benton County will host its inaugural Dog PAWlooza event on Oct. 3 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Kalapuya Building in west Corvallis—this event will offer on-site dog licensing, pet care services and food vendors.  Philomath News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden introduced the Produce Epstein Treasury Records Act on Sept. 10 to force Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to release all Epstein-related records—he said his three-year review of over $1 billion in suspicious transactions showed that full transparency is needed.  Philomath News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Philomath High girls soccer team won 9 to 0 against Sweet Home on Thursday when officials ended the game early due to the mercy rule. Standout Kya Bolton scored four goals including three in the first minutes and an accidental corner kick goal—coach Mat Phelps said the team will work on better ball control before Tuesday's trip to Stayton.  Philomath News
  • Philomath High School boys soccer team stayed unbeaten with an 8-1 win at Sweet Home on Sept. 25—senior Caleb Babcock and the Hernandez brothers led early scoring efforts to secure a 5-0 season record. The Warriors are set to play at home against Stayton on Tuesday.  Philomath News
