- ➤ The Philomath Museum invites community members to celebrate Pacific Coast fruit history on Saturday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Linda Ziedrich will speak on the Lewelling brothers and guests will taste heirloom apples from Territorial Road Orchards with free entry and a suggested $10 donation. - ➤ The Philomath School Board formally accepted two additional complaints against Chair Erin Gudge—bringing the total to eight—after reviewing concerns over her controversial social media post about Charlie Kirk’s death. The board will meet in a special session on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m.—where each complainant may speak for up to 10 minutes—while holding a separate hearing to address process complaints directed at the board. - ➤ OSU’s new wave-energy testing facility off the Newport coast will begin generating power by next fall as companies start testing devices to harness ocean energy—BPA has agreed to purchase all the power at market rates. PacWave, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and the state, connects devices to onshore distribution via four subsea cables to support early industry investment. The Corvallis Advocate
