EDUCATION NEWS

  • Oregon State University’s Open Source Lab ended its funding crisis with major donations from Red Hat, Microsoft, and HPE and will upgrade its hardware, move to a new data center, and pay staff salaries to secure long-term stability. The lab supports projects like Mozilla Firefox and Drupal and lets students gain hands-on tech experience.  The Corvallis Advocate

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Corvallis has set up food drop boxes at public facilities as federal food assistance ends this month — donations of nonperishable items will be collected during business hours and sent to Linn Benton Food Share.  KEZI
  • The Philomath Park Advisory Board will review the summer Music in the Park series at its 5:30 p.m. Tuesday meeting at Philomath City Hall to examine attendance, community feedback and recommendations for future improvements. Board members will also share park updates as new members Yasha Duggal and Candy Garcia join the board — its next meeting is set for Dec. 2.  Philomath News
