- ➤ On Nov. 4, the Benton County Board of Commissioners voted 2—1 to approve Republic Services’ proposed expansion of Coffin Butte Landfill with modified conditions after public hearings and new evidence were reviewed. County staff are preparing a final decision document and the board will formally adopt the decision on Nov. 17 at a special meeting. Philomath News
- ➤ Benton County will honor local veterans with a Veterans Day Recognition Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 10, at the Kalapuya Building. County officials will read a proclamation and present two national awards — the Patriot Award to County Administrator Rachel McEneny and the Seven Seals Award received by Board Chair Nancy Wyse — while speakers including COL Paul Dyer and Mark Lapinskas share their remarks.
