- ➤ Oregon public health officials dismissed a new federal recommendation to delay hepatitis B vaccines for newborns whose mothers test negative — saying vaccinating all babies at birth prevents liver disease. Local leaders noted that other West Coast states support universal vaccination based on scientific data. Philomath News
