- ➤ LBBC has established a scholarship to honor a local artist who lost their life in a sneaker wave. The award will support art studies in Corvallis and will be given later this year. Corvallis Gazette-Times

- ➤ The Philomath girls basketball team rebounded with a 60-48 win over Bishop Alemany at Ocean View High School in a Surf City Holiday Classic pool play game on Saturday, Dec. 27. Junior Reagan Heiken led the game with 24 points while Isabelle Muir contributed nine off the bench. Philomath News
- ➤ Philomath’s three-game winning streak ended with an 81-69 loss to Marshfield on Saturday at Scappoose HS (junior Hamish McConnell scored 19 points) as the Pirates struggled with their 3-point shots. Philomath News
