- ➤ Philomath’s March on Hunger food drive returns for a second year to help local families in need. Volunteers will meet this Saturday, Mar. 7 at City Hall (to distribute flyers for 2,200 households) and gather next Saturday, Mar. 14 at Community Church to collect and box donated food. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Benton County Sheriff’s Office will test the Linn-Benton ALERT emergency notification system at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, sending messages to all landline phones and registered devices in the county; residents who receive the alert should not call 911. Philomath News
- ➤ The Siuslaw National Forest is accepting applications for four permanent wildland fire positions in Corvallis and Alsea from March 10 through March 20 (via USAJobs.gov). The roles include a supervisory fire engine operator, a fire engine operator, an assistant fire engine operator, and a senior firefighter; they are open to any US citizen age 18 or older. KEZI
